WHO CAN ATTEND

Our program is designed for children between the ages of 3 and 5.5. All children enrolled at Elements must be fully potty trained.

OUR SCHOOL YEAR

We are open year round from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday thru Thursday.

We are closed 1 week in the summer and 1 week in winter. Our tuition is pro-rated, so that families pay the same amount each month but don't pay for the days that we are closed.

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULES

Families may choose any combination of days that we have available. There is a minimum 2 day enrollment.

DISCIPLINE STYLE

We believe that every action, thought, and feeling is a signal or attempt to meet a valid and necessary need within each person. Our goal is to find out what that need is for the child and help them/her/him find the most efficient and conscientious way to take care of self and others. We try to reserve prohibitions on behavior for safety situations. The rest of the time, we try to find a way to say "yes", while also helping the children to include the needs of others in their decisions.

CLASSROOMS

Whether inside or outside, the classroom teacher works with families as a guide in being consistently responsive to each child. We have one mixed aged classroom that allows children at varying developmental levels to rely on, support each other, and gain greater empathetic awareness. Our adult:student ratio is generally 1:5 with parents and teacher working together.

SLEEPING EATING AND TEMPERATURE

At Elements, children receive a great deal of practice gaining awareness of their bodies. Our teacher guides children in noticing all their feelings, while providing them amble space, time, comfort, and support to meet their needs. Eating, sleeping, and temperature regulation are on demand as much as possible.
